QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
I graduated from Bournemouth University in 2020 with a BSc in Sports Therapy. Having enjoyed my undergraduate degree so much I wanted to further my knowledge in sports rehabilitation and strength training. This lead me to completing my masters degree in Strength, Conditioning and Rehabilitation in the September of 2021. I have worked at Eastleigh F.C and was also given the opportunity to spend a week in Norway treating in a sports injury clinic (Nr1 Fitness).

I believe that any type of exercise and sport is incredibily important for not only an individuals physical well-being but their mental health as well. As a sports therapist my aim for my clients is to be able to get them back into playing their sport or to the gym and keep releasing those endorphins!
WHY DID YOU BECOME A SPORTS THERAPIST?
From a young age I was a keen netball player and loved all types of sport. Having sustained a few injuries myself, I know how disappointing an injury can be for an athlete. I wanted to make the healing, treatment and rehabilitation process a more positive place for athletes/keen sports people.
WHERE WOULD WE FIND YOU IN YOUR SPARE TIME?
I love the beach whether that would be swimming in the sea, long walks or running! I got into running during lockdown and its turned into a real passion of mine. I also love spending time with my family and friends (not forgetting my cats Piggy and Monkey and my little dog Wilbur).

Richard Barton
Rick has been involved in therapy and injury rehabilitation since 1993 while serving as a physical training instructor in the British Army. He retrained as a chiropractor in 2001 and has been working locally since graduation. He has forged valuable links with local GP’s, physiotherapists and specialist consultants to ensure there is a trusted network of referral available to his patients. Joining the Total Therapy team was a great step forward in achieving a fully integrated approach to optimum rehabilitation and recovery.
Skills- while studying at university he was employed to run their rehabilitation suit for patients and received the Holme Award for Rehabilitation Skills at graduation. He has a postgraduate qualification in acupuncture and a masters diploma in Fitness Training, Movement Assessment and Sports Therapy.
As well as a passion for sport he has a specialist interest in optimising health in the community, returning patients to work after injury and sustaining movement and health after retirement.
After hanging up his triathlon shoes he now spends his spare time cycling, swimming (as a member of the Littledown Masters swim squad) and when possible getting away backcountry skiing.

Cara Elliott
Qualifications and Experience:
Cara completed her Physiotherapy degree at the University of South Australia, before moving to England in 2017. Since then she has spent time close to family in Somerset while enjoying work in private practice. Cara has completed post graduate study in acupuncture and dry needling to complement her other manual therapies.
Passions:
Cara has a love of the great outdoors, and values the importance of physical and mental well being. Outside of physio, she enjoys exploring her more creative side including her passion for music.
Why did Cara decide to become a Physiotherapist?
Cara loves spending every day getting to know each person individually and offering guidance to support them in returning to those activities most important to them. Having a background in dance and gymnastics, she experienced physiotherapy care in her early teens which first sparked her fascination of the human body. With a focus on hands-on treatment, she values keeping people actively involved in their own recovery and providing tools to manage ongoing symptoms.
Where would we find Cara in her spare time:
Getting back to running along the beach after missing the water and fresh sea air since moving away from Australia will be a welcome change! Joe Fentum
(He/Him/His)
Since graduating in 2019 from Bournemouth University, Joe has gained experience locally working in musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, respiratory and neurological rotations. Outside of his full time commitments, he enjoys working for various sports clubs supporting acute injury management and rehabilitation.
Joe enjoys developing personalised exercise programmes for his patients as well as providing manual therapy to support their rehabilitation programme. He takes pride in his ability to build trusting relationships, something which he aims to do in every appointment by individualised treatments to each person.

Charlotte Morton
Qualifications and experience:
Charlotte graduated from Marjon’s University in Plymouth in 2013. After University she worked abroad in France and Austria In the ski resorts, as a Sport Therapist. Charlotte has completed training in:

Why did Charlotte become a Sport Therapist?
Charlotte has always had an interest in the human body and how it all works. Alongside enjoying a vary of sports - skiing, netball, sailing, running and touch rugby. Charlotte was able to find a career which she love - by helping people. Sports Therapy has allowed her to help patients to enjoy sports and their lifestyles.
Trained in Pregnancy massage. During both her pregnancies Chralotte had massages and found them very beneficial. Helps the mother to relax and also to help relieve tension and pain in pregnancy.
What are Charlotte passions:
Charlotte will always ensure her patients are comfortable and relaxed during the treatment. Creating a rapport with her patients so she can get a better understanding of their injury and lifestyle. Working in a range of settings has given her different skills and experiences. Knowing your patient is feeling better and the injury is not affecting them daily - its a good feeling to know you helped.
Where would you find Charlotte in her spare time?
Growing up by the seaside, Charlotte has a love for the sea. In the summer you can find her sailing and sup boarding with the family. In the winter, she will be skiing in the mountains. Nikola is a highly experienced level 5 massage therapist having trained extensively in some of the most highly rated massage and physiotherapy colleges in Europe.
